The Ilusion of Want

This exhibition, curated by Jerome Camp (from Brand Simply Blue) and artist Coral Bijoux selected over 40 artworks (mixed media drawings, sculptures, digital work, hanging and floor devices…) from my body of work created through the years, – this time meditating on our WANTs; challenging the complexities of our relationships to material possessions, while drawing attention to societal construct’s that shape our desires.

I invite audiences to explore the intersection of the SELF as the consumer, the identity, and our environmental consciousness.

It becomes a reflection on the consequences of our relentless pursuit of possessions – such as the desire to possess the land as a resource – to trade, own, control rather than ‘to live with’…

I invite you against the backdrop of mounting environmental concerns – as audience/participant to question the value of what we desire and the impact of our choices on the planet, society and on the SELF, considering what is real and what is simply…an illusion.
